El Corte Inglés is the most famous Spanish chain of department stores and there are many stores in Valencia. There you can buy anything from gourmet food from all over the world to famous shoe and clothes brands, home electricals, phones, holidays, insurance and much more. It's worth visiting when they have sales because then you can buy branded clothing very cheaply. For example GUESS shoes from 30€ or Hugo Boss ties at 500€. This shop literally has it all. If you don't know where to get something or other you will find it in Corte Inglés.

Also you can visit El Rastro (second hand items at low prices, bikes, TV's, chairs, sofas etc). Situated in the carpark of the Valencia CF football stadium (open from Saturday morning to Sunday, we advise that you go early to find the best items at the best prices).

Almost every district in Valencia has a street market:

Monday - Agirós , Mercado Central y Ruzafa.
Tuesday - Jerusalén, Nazaret y San Pedro Nolasco.
Wednesday - Benimamet, Av. del Cid, El Grao y Mosén Sorell.

Saturday - Benicalap, Jesús Patraix y Rojas Clemente.
Sunday and holidays - Pl. Redonda y El Rastro.

We advise that you make the most of the sales in the Valencian shopping centres. They aren't on set dates but they come around in certain periods.
The summer sales  - they start at the beginning of July and end at the end of September
The winter sales - start at the beginning of January and end at the end of February

The sales are when all of the shops lower their prices so they an sell them before the season ends. The closer it gets to the end of the season the more discount you can get.
