A 3-day trip to discover Barcelona, Tarragona and Girona, with professional guides and plenty of free time in Barcelona. We will also have the opportunity to see the Dalí Theater-Museum in Figueres.
Trip to Catalonia
(Barcelona, Tarragona, Girona and Dali Museum in Figueres)
We are going to visit one of the most known regions of Spain! Catalonia!
Of course we will visit its capital which is one of the most famous cities in Europe: Barcelona.
It is the second largest city and with no any doubt the most visited by tourists from around the world in Spain. If you are in Spain it is a sin not to go to know this fantastic city internationally known and cosmopolitan. It is the capital of Catalonia and its cultural center. It is the city of artists, painters, architects. Gaudí has immortalized this city with his works forever.
1st day, Friday: Tarragona and Barcelona
We will leave in the morning to arrive soon at Tarragona, very important city in antiquity, very well known and it was capital as well in Roman times.
It was an important place of passage for the famous Carthaginian general Hannibal in his war against the Roman Empire, the Second Punic War.
It is located on the Costa Dorada and was crossed by Via Augusta. Its archaeological site of the Roman city "Tarraco" scattered throughout the center of the modern city was declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco.
Along with an official guide we can visit all its old town and the Roman wall that is still preserved, and he will tell us the story of the city and its main monuments.
In the afternoon we will arrive to Barcelona, where we will stay in the hotel and with our bus we will visit:
-The Tibidabo: spectacular viewpoint of the entire city and the Mediterranean sea, where there is still an old amusement park of the late nineteenth century! and where a Basilic is also erected.
-The Parc Güell: one of the jewels of the famous modernist architect Gaudí. It is an elevated park with views of the city with the unmistakable style of the great Catalan architect.
At night we will have fun in the crazy and cosmopolitan Barcelona night until the body endures!
2nd day, Saturday: in Barcelona
We will visit the Center of Barcelona with an official guide who will tell us the history of the city and show us all its corners, not only the most tourist, but also those more secrets that only a guide can show us.
The Cathedral, the Gothic Quarter and much more we can see in this walk of about 3 hours.
In the afternoon we can visit other monuments and important places such as the Sagrada Familia, the Picasso Museum, the Boquería Market, the Camp Nou and much much more.
On Saturday night of course we will go out partying in one of the famous clubs of Barcelona ;-)
3rd day, Sunday: Girona and Dalí Theater-Museum
In the morning we will leave the hotel and go to Girona (or Gerona in Castellano) and it is situated very close to the Pyrenees and the border with France. It is a city with a beautiful historical center, the Barri Vell, through which runs the river Oñar. In it we can find the “juderia” or medieval Jewish quarter, one of the best preserved in Europe.
In addition, its streets have been the scene for the filming of part of the sixth season of the popular television show "Game of Thrones”.
Together with a private guide we will visit the medieval center of the city.
After the visit to Girona we will go to Figueres city where Salvador Dalí was born and where the Dalí Museum-Theater is located. It is the largest surrealist object in the world and occupies the old municipal theater that after the civil war was rebuilt by Dalí to create his museum.
Dalí is undoubtedly one of the most famous surrealist artists in the world, and his museum will never leave any visitor indifferent.
Who wants to visit the museum will have time to do it (the entrance is NOT included in the price) and after will start the way back to Valencia.
